Getting older is filled with loads of unexciting stuff that often sucks very badly. Recent discoveries include exponentially increasing responsibility, sprouting grey hairs and an inability to metabolize French fries properly. Conversely, I am finding certain liberation in getting older, as things I longed for as a kid, are within reach. I, on occasion, eat cookies for breakfast. I like to wear jeans with holes in them. I like to lay in the grass until I get itchy, even though I know I will always get itchy.
Our life experiences morph us, age makes our physical selves change. But I am constantly amazed to see that there is a piece of us that remains steadfastly our youngest, most delighted selves, regardless. If you've ever seen an adult in a bouncy house, play with a puppy or dash through a sprinkler, you know what I am getting at. So here is to eating cookies for breakfast and respecting your inner child. (Adult disclaimer, we are a candy company so theoretically we should encourage you to eat candies, not cookies for breakfast though neither are advised for your health, but metaphorically speaking, you know what we mean).
